Types of Braces

Your Charlottesville Braces Specialists

At Charlottesville Orthodontics, our orthodontists, Dr. Weis and Dr. Stranix, understand that each patient is different. Each patient has a unique orthodontic situation and lifestyle, so certain forms of orthodontic treatment may be a better fit than others. That is why we offer several types of braces at our Charlottesville Downtown, Hollymead, and Zion Crossroads offices, so you are able to receive a form of orthodontic treatment that will yield the best results and make the treatment process as comfortable as possible.

Self-Ligating Braces

Self-ligating braces use "sliding-door" technology that allows the wire to slide back and forth within the bracket. No elastic or steel ties are used. This technology creates less friction and results in greater comfort for the patient. In addition, self-ligating braces can reduce both orthodontic treatment time and the number of adjustments our orthodontists usually perform with traditional braces.

Ceramic Braces

Invisalign is a popular form of orthodontic treatment for those looking for a discreet and flexible way to straighten their teeth. We also have a state of the art digital scanner so long gone are the days of taking messy impressions or molds of your teeth!
